This is a brand new product and uses the existing frame work of the GP5200 detector, but adds the functionality of a high precision GPS to the detector. Major redesign of the detector has ensured that additional weight has been kept to a minimum and that practicality of use has not been compromised. The design of the unit is such that it allows for quick attachment and release of the High Precision GPS and is accurate to 10cm in most areas of the pit.
This unit provides quick and easy transfer of data from the Detector to BMM Explorer and removes the need to add BMMs manually in BMM Explorer Software.
The most significant advantage is the reduction in the number of people required on the muckpile by eliminating the need to have a survey team follow the detecting team to plot the blast movement monitor (BMMs) locations. The person detecting the blast movement monitors (BMMs) now has the capability to plot GPS coordinates as they recover the BMMs. There is a twofold advantage of firstly improved safety by reducing the number of people on the muckpile and secondly efficiency.by eliminating the time taken to provide the coordinates. This SED improves efficiency and accuracy thereby reducing cost and increasing profitability.
