BMT’s innovative solution tracks ore movement—making every single or blast more profitable.
Used at over 105 surface mine sites around the world, the BMM System integrates into your normal site procedures. As the blast holes are drilled, extra holes are drilled to house the BMMs, which are activated and dropped into a hole about mid-bench level. The pre-blast location of each BMM is surveyed.
As the ore shifts during the blast, so do the placed BMMs. Post-blast, the grade control team moves across the muck pile to locate the BMMs using our specialised detector. This data is sent to the BMM Explorer software, which calculates the displacement and creates new post blast polygons and dig lines.
