BMT helps deliver a 26% production improvement for Avesoro Resources’ New Liberty gold mine
Toronto-based Avesoro Resources announced that our blast movement technology, deployed in Q2, has helped deliver a 26% increase in gold production at its New Liberty gold mine, located in Liberia.
For the quarter ended September 30, New Liberty produced 19,885 ounces in Q31, up 26% from Q2, and improved feed grade by 30% to 2.59 g/t.
“New Liberty implemented BMT’sblast movement solution in Q2, 2017,” said Jacques Janse, CEO of Blast Movement Technologies. “We are pleased that the site has realised value from our BMM System so soon after implementation. Our African team support their operation, located in Liberia, from our office in Accra, Ghana. New Liberty joins a growing number of open pit mines across Africa, like Asanko’s Nkran operation, who are mining more ore and improving mine profitability through blast monitoring technology.”

Mined ore grades averaged 2.75 g/t, an increase of 4% on the previous quarter.
Blast Monitoring Technology (“BMT”) was implemented in the previous quarter and this was used on all ore blasts throughout the period with positive effects.
The introduction of revised grade control procedures, including 10 metre spaced channel sampling and closer spaced reverse circulation grade control drilling completed across the mining area has led to an improvement in reconciliation of mined grades to the resource model.
