Teck Resources Limited improves ore recovery and productivity with blast movement monitoring
Teck Resources Limited uses our BMM System to better monitor ore movement—improving ore recovery and productivity while reducing energy and explosives use—at three of its open-pit properties: Red Dog Operations (Zinc) in Alaska, USA, Highland Valley Copper in British Columbia, Canada, and Carmen de Andacollo (Copper and Gold) in central Chile.
Watch this Teck-produced video, showcasing blast movement technology and how it’s implemented at their operations.
Blast movement monitors are placed in monitoring holes near ore-waste or high grade-low grade contacts and move with the blasted material. Post-blast, grade control team detect the BMMs, calculate the measured movement and new dig lines.
